While the film is a little over a week away from release in the US, Fantastic Mr. Fox screened at the AFI Fest 2009 on Sunday and imeem.com has the Soundtrack for the film currently streaming on its site. For those unaware of imeem.com, it’s a free music streaming website where you can find almost any song your little heart desires to listen to. You can upload your own music or create playlists from others music. There is also a link to purchase the music on iTunes and Amazon.com. If it werent for imeem I would probably have to quit my job. As always, this Wes Anderson soundtrack is just as weird and quirky as any of his previous films, which is why we love the guy, including records from The Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys. The real winners on the soundtrack are the original pieces written by Alexandre Desplat(Benjamin Button,The Golden Compass) This is just another reason why I’m excited for the film.

My favorites are ‘Boggis, Bunce and Bean’ and ‘High Speed French Train’

  1. You’re right about Anderson’s soundtracks. Just caught Royal Tanenbaums on Starz right now, and I was really loving the songs. He even put in the Peanuts Christmas song in the background of a scene. Not sure why, but it fit perfectly for the scene.
